Thrive Therapy Maryland
Yahellah Best, Graduate-Level Intern
Hi there! My name is Yahellah (yael-la), and I am enrolled in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Johns Hopkins University. I am excited to be at Thrive Therapy Maryland, where I will be completing the required clinical hours for my program, and will be provided with weekly clinical supervision and training!
I am inspired by working in areas of trauma, depression, anxiety, multicultural issues, and holistic wellness. As a Black Latina woman, I am particularly interested in women and BIPOC empowerment. I have 10+ years of experience in Higher Education, specifically in academic advising and student affairs, mostly working with first-generation and low-income students. What I have loved most about my work in the field has been the connections I have made with students through my authentic, affirming, empathetic, and encouraging coaching style and I am looking forward to applying the skills I have gained through my experience and my current counseling program to build trusting relationships with my clients.
I provide a safe and brave space for clients to show up as their authentic selves and honor each person’s unique experiences. Please contact me if you are ready to partner with me on your wellness journey!

Yahellah is INN with Cigna, United, Kaiser, and Carefirst BCBS. Direct pay rates are $110 per appointment. If you have Medicaid, we can discount services to $90/appointment.
