Thrive Therapy Maryland
Neena Bishop, LCPC
Hi, my name is Neena and I’m so thankful you are thinking of including me in your therapeutic journey! I am trained to diagnose and treat m DSM-V disorders.I received my LCPC after graduating from Loyola University of MD but my interest in counseling started many years ago! Growing up as a second generation immigrant, I have often found myself in the in-betweens, trying to find spaces to exist as someone who never felt a sense of belonging. My goal for us is to create a collective and collaborative space for those who share similar stories. I believe that healing and growth occurs within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship so I am committed to creating this space for you! My therapeutic approach is guided with compassion, empathy, and the idea that every person deserves the right to mental health care. I empower my clients to recognize that they are the expert of their own experience and I will help encourage you to lean into understanding what has impacted you or continues to impact you internally and externally, including validating the impact of existing systems of oppression, power, and privilege, and how these inherently may be affecting your wellbeing.
I specialize in trauma treatment and have provided trauma services to children, adolescents & adults who are processing past traumas as well as dealing with current & ongoing traumas. In addition to working on my certification for TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), I have also received training in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy). I know that my client is the expert on their own experience and my hope is to create a synergic space to help you heal!
