Thrive Therapy Maryland
MaryKate Behan, Graduate-Level Intern
Hi, I’m MaryKate, I’m glad you’re here.
I am passionate about supporting adolescents, adults, and couples through challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, and identity development. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in authenticity.

I primarily draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) to help clients develop emotional awareness, strengthen their relationships, and live more in alignment with their values. These approaches enable me to combine evidence-based tools with a warm, human connection, helping clients develop flexibility, insight, and resilience as they navigate life’s challenges.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am deeply committed to providing affirming and inclusive care for individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those exploring their identity, navigating relationships, or seeking to find balance and meaning.

I am currently pursuing my M.S. in Clinical Professional Counseling at Loyola University Maryland, where I am focusing on evidence-based approaches to therapy and holistic wellness. In addition to my clinical training, I bring a strong research background in psychology that informs my evidence-based, thoughtful approach to therapy. I value integrating current research with genuine human connection to create meaningful, effective change for my clients.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your wellness journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
